Save Baby Seals

Hello fellow bloggers,
I have been reading a very interesting book lately called "Selkie Girl" which explores the Faroese, Icelandic, Irish, and Scottish mythology of the selkie women. Seals that can turn into humans once a year on midsummer's eve. In the story, there are a lot of sad parts, and at first I didn't think it was true that people club poor baby seals to death for their pelts but I found out that it was true, and still goes on today. I think that's a really cruel and evil thing to do, and would like to find a way to help the web sites that defend poor little baby seals from death. There are quite a few of them and if you also want to help baby seals you should look them up.

i agree that it's cruel to club seals to death. However, people who live in the kinds of conditions where seals live need to have protection from the snow, and they can't afford or don't have access to the kind of snow gear that we do, and the only way of keeping themselves warm is to wear seal pelts. On the other hand i think that if they do find it nesseccary to kill seals in order to surive, they should do it in the most humane way possible, and it is completely out of order to do it for any kind of fun or sport. i also think that many other animals endure the same kind of cruel treatment, but are overlooked due to the fact that they are neither cute or fluffy. they have just the same rights as baby seals and we shouldn't forget about them.
